I have a Canon IR C3380 printer/copier with M-1 Hole Punch.

Customer Question

I have a Canon IR C3380 printer/copier with M-1 Hole Punch. It will punch holes in copy mode, but not in printer mode. I am using the PCL5 driver.

Hi there,

First, ensure you are using the latest print driver available for the IR C3380 from the Canon website.

Then go to the print driver settings, and

  • for the Finisher/Output Tray option, choose Office Finisher
  • for the Hole Punch Unit option, choose Installed

Let me know if that works?

No, I've done all the obvious stuff.

I have downloaded the latest drivers on two different computers. I have printer from several programs including Adobe Acrobat, MS Word and from Chrome. I've tried related drivers. The correct driver will query the printer and confirm the existence of the finishing unit Y1 and the puncher M1. The printer will punch in copier mode.

Printed, not printer. (First instance)

It used to work.

Ok, then there is a fault within the copier itself and it will require a service visit.
