when I print to my canon Mp730 I get a error saying "printer is offline"
JA: Has your Canon done this before? And can you guesstimate how old it is?
Customer: not before. started about 4 weeks ago.

Thank you. Please try the following:

  1. Disconnect the printer's USB cable from the computer for now.
  2. Click on Start\Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Devices and Printers.
  3. Then there, right-click on the Canon printer and click on option Remove device and confirm Yes. Make sure there is not any Canon item showing there for now.
  4. Make sure printer is powered on.
  5. Re-connect USB printer cable securely to both printer and computer.
  6. Wait a bit, and the printer should automatically be reinstalled.
  7. See if you can print something now.

Can you unplug the USB printer cable from both printer and computer this time

, then go to Start\Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Devices and Printers. Then there, right-click on the Canon printer and remove it again

, then connect the USB printer cable from printer to another USB port at the back of the computer

, then wait a bit, and it should reinstall again

, then check printing.

You're welcome. Sorry, please try the following when you can:

- Disconnect printer's USB cable from computer

, then go to Start\Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Devices and Printers. Then there, right-click on the Canon printer and remove it

, click on Start\Control Panel\Programs\Programs and Features and uninstall any Canon printer driver / program there

, restart the computer

, click on the Canon website below:

, then there, click on Drivers (under Operating system Windows 7....)

went ro canon drivers for windows 7 and MP730
I got "There is no recommended download for the OS version you selected"I am LOST.
