I have an MB5360 and foolishly inserted a non-Canon black

Good morning
I have an MB5360 and foolishly inserted a non-Canon black ink cartridge which has really stuffed up the printing - missing sections, all colours, faded printing etc.
How do I remove that cartridge which has only recently been inserted. Surely I don't have to wait until the ink has all been used up?

- Also, here are the written instructions:

  1. Print something from the computer (or print on printer's screen, go to Setup -> Maintenance -> Print nozzle check pattern -> Yes)
  2. While the printer is still printing, unplug the power cord from the printer.
  3. Open the front cover of the printer.
    ; Now, you should be able to move the ink carriage freely.
  4. Slide the ink carriage / holder to the right (but not all the way or else, it will lock, then we would start over.)
    ; Now, notice on the left side inside the printer, you can see some white plastic gears.
  5. Turn the rightmost gear clockwise until it clicks.
  6. Move the ink carriage to the left until the cartridge you want to remove is in front of the cartridge removal space.
  7. Press the (blue) button above to remove the cartridge, and remove it.
  8. Now you can insert the correct ink cartridge.
  9. Once done, slide the ink carriage right all the way to the locking position.
  10. Plug the power cord back to the printer.
  11. Turn on printer, and it should work fine now.
