Im trying to make a variety of different size prints for a small coffee shop first friday show in june and I feel like Im wasting ink and paper trying to figure it out , thank you very much for the help

Hello, my name is ***** ***** I am happy to help you. What application are you trying to print from?
Customer: replied 6 months ago.
Hello Ryan
Im printing from the canon menu Image Garden
Expert:  Rylan Sharpe replied 6 months ago.
Okay, in what way do you lose the dimensions? Does it not print to the border as it should?
Customer: replied 6 months ago.
Im want to print borderless pics and it prints my pictures in a way where I lose my edges or Ill get a white line along one edge where it did not print. Its like my image is shifted
Expert:  Rylan Sharpe replied 6 months ago.
okay. What size paper are you printing to?
Customer: replied 6 months ago.
for this set Im printing 8.5 by 11
Expert:  Rylan Sharpe replied 6 months ago.
okay, are the images from your camera? I am asking because there is a potential that the aspect ratio could be slightly off.
Customer: replied 6 months ago.
No Im taking the images from lightroom
Expert:  Rylan Sharpe replied 6 months ago.
have you tried to print directly from LightRoom? That is my preferred method. Lightroom displays how the image will fit on the paper, which is handy too.
Customer: replied 6 months ago.
How do I calibrate the aspect ratio for different print sizes to get from what I see on my monitor to paper?
Customer: replied 6 months ago.
I havent but I can try one right now, would just take a second
Customer: replied 6 months ago.
this is working better, but I havent found a borderless option on lightroom
Expert:  Rylan Sharpe replied 6 months ago.
Take your time, I will be here on/off for the next several hours. You can change the aspect ratios of images by cropping them based on size, or if you calculate the aspect ratio yourself. Most images are 4:3 ratio, but 8.5x11 is not. So, you can just zoom in a bit to get it to print correctly, chopping a bit off of one of the sides.

Im getting the proportions back but I'm also getting a thin stroke black line around the border
Expert:  Rylan Sharpe replied 6 months ago.
That is strange, and most likely not from Lightroom as I don't get that. So, it is making the border black on the image? How wide is it?
Customer: replied 6 months ago.
really thin like a 32nd of an inch, and only three sides of the picture
Expert:  Rylan Sharpe replied 6 months ago.
That is very strange. You don't see the black line in Lightroom when you see the preview, do you?
Customer: replied 6 months ago.
No I dont and I removed the stoke border checked box
Expert:  Rylan Sharpe replied 6 months ago.
In Lightroom, are all of the margins at 0.00? is the cell size at 8.5x11?
Customer: replied 6 months ago.
checking now
Customer: replied 6 months ago.
Left .25 Right .25 Top .11 Bottom .21
I cant figure out how to drop it down to zero, these are the lowest I can go in the margin slider
Expert:  Rylan Sharpe replied 6 months ago.
Go back to Develop and do a crop. When you select crop, you can choose the aspect ratio, and chose 8.5x11.
Customer: replied 6 months ago.
ok I'll try that
Expert:  Rylan Sharpe replied 6 months ago.
I wish you luck!
Customer: replied 6 months ago.
ok I'm figuring things out here out with the crop ratio
but I still cannot print borderless and I still get a black line along the top and the bottom of the photo
??? weird
Expert:  Rylan Sharpe replied 6 months ago.
Yes, making me think that the printer might have a restriction of some kind, with the borderless printing.
Customer: replied 6 months ago.
What about the black lines top and bottom, any ideas?
Expert:  Rylan Sharpe replied 6 months ago.
one more area to check. In control panel, Devices and printer can you please go into the printer, right click on it and go to printing preferences. Under the page setup tab, is "borderless" selected?
Customer: replied 6 months ago.
I switched the settings like you suggested and it still crops my pictures of the page
and when I use the border to print in light room I still get back lines on two sides of my print
No progress
Expert:  Rylan Sharpe replied 6 months ago.
It must be a printer issue, since we have exhausted all software possibilities.
Customer: replied 6 months ago.
so now what do I do?
Expert:  Rylan Sharpe replied 6 months ago.
How old is the printer?
Customer: replied 6 months ago.
brand new
Expert:  Rylan Sharpe replied 6 months ago.
okay, Do you have another computer you can test with?
Expert:  Rylan Sharpe replied 6 months ago.
Hello, I have not heard back if you have another computer to test with. At this point, I think we need to contact Cannon to see if they know of this problem and if they need to replace the printer, since it is under warranty and you have exhausted everything on your end. Thank you.
