my 9600 will not print on canvas. It thinks it's printing, but the head just moves back and forth, no ink is delivered. I haven't tried to print on regular photo paper.

Same problem on paper indicates, as suspected, that this is a hardware issue.You either have a clogged/contaminated printhead, or a faulty printhead or logic board.Go into the system maintenance menu and run the head clean (nozzle clean) function, up to 5 times total.Failing that we'd need to try a manual clean, and failing that we'd need to replace the head.
