I have toolbox 4.9 installed and I have D1100 Image Class

I have toolbox 4.9 installed and I have D1100 Image Class Cannon. I have been using this since 2013 but all of a sudden it stopped working - - - -
error message: There is no scanner selected. Please select a scanner.
I do not know where to go to do that? Please help an 82 year old.

OK, Ben. This may be simple and have a good outcome. Or it may be a bit less simple, and turn out ... rather poorly.

First, please just make a test photocopy of one page, on your D1100. Does that work OK?

Second, please tell me how the D1100 is hooked up to your computer - through a network ? or through a direct USB cable connection ?
