Please try the following fix:

Solution #1:

  1. Press at the same time the two keys Windows and R on the keyboard
    , then type services.msc then click OK, then the Services window will open
  2. , then look for each of the following 3 items in order:

    a. Remote Procedure Call (RPC)

    b. Shell Hardware Detection

    c. Windows Imaging Acquisition (WIA)

  3. , then double-click on each of the items above in order to open it
  4. , then for the Startup type option, select option Automatic
  5. , then click on Apply at bottom right
  6. , then click on the Start button there
  7. , then click OK at the bottom
    ; make sure to do these steps for al lthe 3 items above.

, then see if you can scan now.

Solution #2:

- If that does not work, press at the same time the two keys Windows and R on the keyboard, then type rstrui then click OK, then the System Restore window should open. Then click on Next, and restore the computer to any date before this issue first occurred, and check.
