I have a MFC 7860 DW, Says I have a rear jam, but I have taken the rear cover off and do not see a jam.

The problem you are facing can be cause by two reasons, if there is paper jam in real or two if the sensor is defective, as you have already opened the reat cover and checked the area , it means the printer is showing a false error and this can only happen due to defective sensor. Now, the price of a sensor is not too high, but the overall cost of the replacment will be very high, as to do that the printer have to completely dismantled.
