To replace the ink, you need to follow this process
( on the printer itself ) press Menu, press up or down to select Maintenance, and press OK. Then select Ink Cartridge Replacement and press OK.Lift the scanner.
You should now be able to get to and remove the ink tanks.. Remember, you have to lift up from the top and pull back on the cartridge cover~

After replacing the ink cartridges and getting the printer error message.
Did you try removing each ink catridge and inserting them again, to make sure they have been inserted properly?
