After working fine two years, my printer got

After working fine for about two years, my printer got "lost." My 2012 Macbook Air OS X 10.8.5 no longer recognizes my Epson XP-410 printer. I plugged in the USB, deleted the printer, re-added it, and was prompted to click to download the printer driver. After a long time I got the message from Software Update, "The software is currently unavailable. Please check back…" I've checked back maybe a dozen times.I've also tried entering the IP address and using some generic printer driver - does not work. "The printer is not responding."
Please help!

You will need to try downloading and installing the printer driver from the Epson website:

http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/supDetail.jsp?oid=224802&infoType=Downloads&platform=OSF_M_X8
