That is not a valid error number though, are you seeing that on the printer, or the computer?

It should be something much shorter and simpler than that.

When I go to 'whats printing' on the printer I get the error message shown. there are no messages on the printer screen or the computer screen.

I have made a photo copy which works ok

The 2 lights on the printer are solid so there does not seem to be a problem between the computer and the printer

The printer screen shows its home page i.e. Samples, Quick forms, ABC News etc.When I press print on the computer there is no reaction from the printer.It seems to me the print function on the printer has failed?

That is an entirely separate issue. You had initially indicated that the error message was on the printer itself.

If it can copy, it should be able to print. This is a computer or network issue, not a printer issue.

What you'll need to do is delete and reinstall the printer.

Go to the devices/printers folder under your settings/control panel,

then right click the hp, then Remove Device.

Reboot the computer, then reinstall the latest drivers from here: http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-Photosmart-6520-e-All-in-One-Printer-series/5169038/model/5169040

choose the full feature/software package.
