Try unplugging the USB cable at both ends.
Make sure it is not damaged anywhere along its entire length.
Swap for another if you have another... esp. if you have one less than 6 feet long. Six foot long USB cables can make sore problems when used with printers.
Then try the USB cable in a different USB port on your computer - preferably the one that is farthest away from the originally tried one.
And plug into the printer again. See if that gets it working.
If not, then the question is: has the USB cable connection every worked before, since you got the printer?
