Please make a copy from the scanner glass so the computer is not used at all, let me know how that comes out.
Have you tried cleaning it yet?
It sounds like you haven't please try this and let me know the results.
Never turn off the product during a cleaning cycle or you may damage it.
Let me know the results when you can.
