In 2010 I bought an Epson Work Force 615 (Model # C3638).

Customer Question

In 2010 I bought an Epson Work Force 615 (Model # *****). Apple recently upgraded my 5 yr. old MacBook Pro's operating system to the OS X El Capitan. Now, my computer doesn't work my printer. Do I need to download a new driver? If so, does Epson have one that will allow OS X El Capitan to work my older printer?
Thanks,
Norman Miller

Hi,

I'm sorry about the issue. Apple already has the driver for this printer model in Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan. Please try the following fix:

  1. Click on the Apple logo / menu, then click on System Preferences, then open Printers & Scanners.
  2. Click on the Epson printer if it's there, then click on the - (minus) button at the bottom left, and delete it for now.
  3. Make sure printer is powered on and connected to the computer.
  4. Click on the Apple logo / menu, then click on App Store..., then click on Updates.
  5. Install all Epson update(s) if available.
  6. Then check printing.
  7. If your Epson printer is not showing, then make sure the printer is powered on and connected to the computer
, then click on the Apple logo / menu, then click on System Preferences, then open Printers & Scanners
, then click on the + (plus) button at the bottom left, and it should detect your Epson printer, then add it
    , then check printing.
