I upgraded my apple computer to OS Yosemite and my printer

Customer Question

I upgraded my apple computer to OS Yosemite and my printer now does not work - does not communicate with the printer. Do I need to do something? I have a MX700.

Hi,

I'm sorry about the issue. Please try the following fix:

STEP 1

- Disconnect the printer from the computer for now if it's connected to the computer with a USB printer's cable.

, then download and install the printer's driver at the website below:

http://gdlp01.c-wss.com/gds/8/0100005668/01/mcpd-mac-mx700-10_84_2_0-ea13.dmg

, then download / install these two scanner drivers:

http://gdlp01.c-wss.com/gds/7/0100004397/01/msd_-mac-mx700-13_9_2a-ej7.dmg

http://gdlp01.c-wss.com/gds/3/0100002133/10/misd-mac-ijscanner1-3_1_0-ea13.dmg

, then download/install the MP Navigator EX application at the website below:

http://gdlp01.c-wss.com/gds/8/0200003288/01/mnve_1_0-mac-all-1_0_8-ej7.dmg

STEP 2:

- Make sure the printer is powered on, and if the printer is connected to the computer with a USB Cable, then connect it from the printer to the computer.

- Go to the Apple logo / menu, then click on Preferences, then click on Printers & Scanners

, (and if you see any Canon printer there, then click on the Canon printer, then on the - (minus) button at the lower left corner, and remove it for now)

, then click on the + (plus) button at the lower left corner, and it should detect your Canon printer, then add it

, then check printing.

Please reply at the box below to continue troubleshooting. Thank you.

far I have only tried to figure out which cords go to what - I haven't gotten anything else done and have avoided any need of the printer. I see the value in cordless. There is an old backup system tied into this computer and that is causing the cord problem. And I guess upgrading the computer caused a chain reaction.
And this station is off limits starting tomorrow until next week, so I may not get to it until then.
I do appreciate your help, but haven't put it to use yet.
