Hi there,
If you are unable to enter the menu to move the print heads automatically, then you will need to try manually moving the print head by turning the belt.
Do this carefully, as if something is broken and obstructing the print head, causing the error, then you could cause further damage by moving the print head manually. In some cases, the printer will need to be disassembled to repair the fault and replace the print head.

if i could just pull it out with the belt i could just pull on the caridge it's self, some thing that is not possable even when it is working. but that is not solving the problem of the error message that will not go away so that one is able to acess the menu to diassemble the printhead .if i take the housings off to replace the printhead i will still be left with a machine that will not run as it is stuck in this mode of error. Or do you believe that the system will reset it's self once switched off and on again after the replacement? i personnally think it will not ,I need to be able reset the menu.

Hi there,
It depends on whether something is broken and obstructing the print head, causing the error, or not.
In cases like this, a Canon technician will disassemble the housing and troubleshoot the printhead in-situ.
