are you using oem brother cartridge or its a 3rd party generic cartridge
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
It is a brother cartridge.
Expert:  Michelle replied 1 year ago.
please remove cartridge and turn off printer
unplug power cord
keep the ON button on printer pressed for 10 secs
wait for 2 mins
plug in power cord
turn on and insert the new cartridge
let me know the status

We get, "replace toner". Got this before, also.
Expert:  Michelle replied 1 year ago.
ok...the problem seems to be with the cartridge toner sensor
its unable to detect the cartridge
this could be due to either sensor failing or it has moved from its place when you were changing the ink
unfortunately, this would require the unit to be serviced for the sensor repair replacement as its an internal part and cannot be fixed externally
i would suggest to contact a printer repair technician and get the unit serviced
i hope you understand that in case of hardware faults i can suggest cleaning and reset steps but cannot make a bad part work again
