Customer:

it is under the picture of the directions to hold the cover open and i don,t know what to touch to try and move it

Michelle :

do you see a black box on the right side of the printer

Michelle :

thats the print head

Customer:

yes

Michelle :

The print head is positioned at the far right hand side, if you cannot move it. The machine has a mechanical malfunction and will require repair.

Michelle :

if you can move it then the error will change as you connect to the power

Customer:

my problem is i can't get hold of it to try and move it

Michelle :

you mean you dont have much room to put your finger on it and pull it out is that correct

Customer:

yes

Michelle :

when you have no room and you cant access the print head and unable to move manually as per the picture that means the printer has a broken gear which moves the motorized belt back and forth

Michelle :

the printer would need a printer repair technician to replace the broken part or the head moving belt is broken.

Customer:

i have it to the center, now what

Michelle :

how did you pull it at the center

Customer:

i have it to the center

Customer:

i wiggled it and it came over to the center

Michelle :

connect the power cable and let me know if the head moves to the left

Customer:

with the cover open

Michelle :

yes

Customer:

with cover open, it stays in center

Michelle :

is the power on now

Customer:

it says the cover is open

Michelle :

close the cover and tell me if the error is still there

Michelle :

open the cover again and check where the print head is

Customer:

it says unable to clean...

Michelle :

open the cover again and check where the print head is

Customer:

and print head is back over to right

Michelle :

pull it back to the center when the power is unplugged

Customer:

ok

Michelle :

use a flash light and examine under the print head the carriage rail If anything is found, which might obstruct head to move at the left remove the part.

Michelle :

and if there is nothing then the encoder strip of the printer needs a replacement.

Michelle :

Encoder stip is a plastic film line strip which runs at the back of the print head from left to right if that has gone bad then the printer needs a new encoder strip.

Customer:

now what

Michelle :

The encoder strip a part which you will not be able to replace it till you know how to open the full printer cover to access the carriage rail

Michelle :

you would need a printer repair technician to get the job done

Michelle :

if you can tell me which start are you from i can locate a repair technician.

Customer:

thats ok,

Customer:

i guess we are finished
