Hi,
WELCOME TO JUST ANSWER!! My name isXXXXX will assist you to solve or identify your problem.

The problem you are facing (power) is not caused by the waste ink absorber. The problem can be caused by defective power cord/supply or main board of the printer. Please follow the steps below and check the result. If you face the same problem, then make sure from some computer store (they can check it with meter), that the power supply is defective or not .If the power supply is defective, then replace the power supply. If not, then I hate to tell you, that the repairing cost of the main board will be more than the price of a new printer. You may have guess that too.

I know, you may not like my straight forward answer, but I cannot tell you anything, that can mis-guide you and give you false hope of getting back your printer. Hope you will understand.

1.Remove all the cables from the printer.

2.Wait for 10 to 15 mins.

3.Reconnect the power cord.

4.Check the printer.
