Follow these steps:
1.remove and reinstall the ink cartidges
2. press ON/OFF switch to reset the printer
3. if the printer is new, make sure all the packing material has been removed
4. Check the paper path to make sure that you do not have a paper jam.
5. If these do not clear the problem, you need to have the printer serviced.

not under war. - 5 yrs old or more

just checked - 3 yrs old

more exact - replaced cartridge, then had paper jam, then got error.

i did print a page before the paper jam

please try these steps

justprinters :

1, Power off the printer

2, Unplug the printer's power cord, wait 5 seconds then replug the power cord in.

3, Hold the Power button for 6 Beeps

4, Release the Power Button

This will reset the printer and should resolve incorrect cartridge detection problems

ther are no beeps while holding down the power button

if you can get the carriage encoder strip replaced
