Hello,Welcome to JustAnswer. My name isXXXXX and I will be assisting you with your problem today. Most likely this is a print head issue. The print head is what the cartridges sit in inside of the printer. To attempt to resolve it, do the following:(1) Open the printer and wait for the carriage to slide over(2) Remove the ink cartridges from the print head.(3) Use cotton swabs dipped in hot water to thoroughly clean the print head and each ink cartridge.(4) Repeat this until there is no ink residue coming off on the cotton swab.(5) Once finished, allow to dry and replace the cartridges(6) Try to print something nowIf that does not work then you have one of two possibilities:(1) One of the ink cartridges is defective and causing the error(2) If it's definitely not that, then the print head will need to be replaced. Thanks and please click the green ACCEPT button if you are satisfied with my answer. Thanks,Rob
I did what you said, but it still won't print. It just goes back to flashing RESET POWER. Are you sure it's not something to do with the power?
There's one other possibility short of having to have the machine serviced.
Try this reset:
Power off printer, then press and hold buttons while powering on, if it doesn't reset, then unplug it and press and hold buttons while plugging it in# XXXXX 6 Semi-Full Reset# XXXXX 9 Full Reset
Try # XXXXX 6 first
then if that doesn't fix it, try # XXXXX 9
I've done everything you said with no success.
Now I can't get the [printer to turn on. A light is now flashing on the front, left bottom corner, where it has a USB port, etc. The light shows something that looks like a camera. I hope you can help.
Now it's flashing again RESET POWER. Are you able to help, or have you just walked away.
I have given all possibilities for this problem. If the suggestions above did not work, the printhead would have to be replaced to fix it in this case.
How much would that cost, and who would fix it?
Thanks for trying. I guess I'll have to buy a new printer.
You would have to order the replacement from HP.
Thanks and please click the green ACCEPT button after reviewing my answer. Thanks,Rob
Well, I thought you had given up on me, so I went to Office Max, and they had a new 6500A on sale which I bought for $89. It is working fine now, and my 6300 is going out in the trash. I know you did your best, XXXXX XXXXX a Christian, so I'll click Accept.
