Do you have a wireless computer/laptop that is working via wireless? If so, does it have windows xp, vista, or 7?
Does the wireless computer/laptop have windows xp, vista, or 7? On that wireless computer/laptop, can you click on Start, then right-click on Computer, then click on Properties, then check if your System type: is 32-bit or 64-bit?
From that wireless computer/laptop, please do the following:Click on the network/wireless icon at the bottom right of the screen, then click on Open Network and Sharing Center. Then click on Manage wireless networks on the left. Then select your wireless network name. Then right-click on your wireless network name and click on Properties. Then click on the Security tab. Then select the box at Show characters. Then you will see the Network security key above it, that is your wireless password.
this dose not work. it keeps asking for the security string?
When you follow the steps above, do you see the wireless password?
then that is the security string.
Does the printer see your wireless network name?

On that wireless computer/laptop, please download http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/wirelesskeyview-x64.zipThen open it and run the ...exe file, and select your wireless Network name.Then to the right, there is key(hex) or key(ascii). This is your wireless password/security string.
this is not working. something else must be wrong with my system. I will have to get it looked at

With the power connected to the motorola sbg6580 modem/modem, please use a paper clip to press & hold the reset button/hole located on the back/bottom of the modem/router for 10 seconds. Then wait a few minutes and check.
