I am trying to Scan a document using my Canon Printer MX870.

Resolved Question:

I am trying to Scan a document using my Canon Printer MX870. I also have a Canon Printer MX320 and this is the scanner that comes up on the screen although the MX870 is the default printer. How do I get to the MX870 printer?

How do i Scan a document using the Canon MX870 printer and not the MX 320 Printer I want to change the printer from the MX 320 to the MX 870 and can't seem to do this

Our first step is to check whether the scanner is installed on your system

click start > all programs > accessories > run

On run window type devmgmt.msc and press enter key

arsufi2002 :

Now you will get Device manager window

arsufi2002 :

On that check a section named Imaging Devices

I get that this device is working properly

Double click on Imaging Devices and tell me the device name

arsufi2002 :

the device name that you see under the Imaging Devices

I get 1,3 Webcam and MX870 printer

ok, Windows has detected the scanner

Now click start > All programs > accessories > run

yes I know and that was when I was told that the device was working properly

On run window type wiaacmgr.exe and press enter key

Now try a test scan
