I am trying to scan a document using my Dell V105 printer,

I am trying to scan a document using my Dell V105 printer, when I press the scan button on top of the printer nothing happens, please help.....

Hi, I'm Bernie and I'll be the technician helping you today. Sorry to hear you're having this issue.

What version of Microsoft Windows you are using?

Windows XP has a green rectangle that says Start in the lower left corner of the screen.

If the button is round, click it, then right click computer and select properties. It will tell you if you have Windows Vista or 7 there. Please tell me.

No worries - sorry for mine, we have a significant time difference but I'll try to reply asap when I see your posts.

Please take these steps:

These steps will disconnect your internet temporarily. To get back to this page (So you can press Accept if it works, which is how I am paid), go to www.justanswer.com, and then click my questions (upper right) to get here again:

*Skip steps 1 and 10 if you are using a network printer and not a locally attached one

1. Unplug your printer connection from the computer
2. Click the Windows Logo button (Bottom left of screen)
3. Devices and Printers
4. Right click your printer and select remove and confirm
5. Click Control Panel
6. Select Uninstall a program
7. Uninstall any Dell printer software you see there
8. Restart your comptuter
9. Try to reinstall the printer from the CD
10. Reconnect the printer to the computer when setup asks you to do so

Now try the printer again

Hi thanks for the answer unfortunately it is still not working after installing the printer again.
