I have tried to fix the ip number as static and it did not work

Displaying Network Setting Information


1 Turn on the machine.


2 Press the Menu button.


3 Press the arrow left or arrow right button to select Maintenance/settings, then press the OK button.


The Maintenance/settings screen is displayed.


4 Press the arrow left or arrow right button to select Device settings, then press the OK button.


The Device settings screen is displayed.


5 Press the arrow up or arrow down button to select LAN settings, then press the OK button.


The LAN settings screen is displayed.


6 Press the arrow up or arrow down button to Display LAN details, then press the OK button.


The following information on the machine's network setting is displayed.












Connection


IP address


Subnet mask


Default gateway

Initializing Network Settings


To initialize the network settings on the machine, follow these steps.












Important


Note that initialization erases all connection settings with computers, and printing, scanning, or faxing operation may become impossible. To use the machine over network, refer to the Network Setup Guide to set up the machine again.





Initializing using the Operation Panel


1 Turn on the machine.


2 Press the Menu button.


3 Press the arrow left or arrow right button to select Maintenance/settings, then press the OK button.


The Maintenance/settings screen is displayed.


4 Press the arrow left or arrow right button to select Device settings, then press the OK button.


The Device settings screen is displayed.


5 Press the arrow up or arrow down button to select LAN settings, then press the OK button.


The LAN settings screen is displayed.


6 Press the arrow up or arrow down button to select Reset LAN settings, then press the OK button.


7 Press the arrow up or arrow down button to select Yes, then press the OK button.



Initializing with the Canon IJ Network Tool


1 Connect the machine and your computer with a USB cable.


2 Turn on the machine.


3 Start up the Canon IJ Network Tool.


See Starting Up the Canon IJ Network Tool.


4 (Windows only) Select the machine to be initialized.


5 Select Maintenance on the Settings menu.


6 Click Initialize under Setting Initialization on the Maintenance dialog box.


7 Click Yes on the Initialize Settings dialog box (Windows) or OK on the Setting Initialization dialog box (Macintosh).


The network settings are initialized.

OK did that and printer works, thankyou. However, now thw scanner will not work on Paperport 12. I have tried all scanners offered in scanner set up

Any ideas please?

you will need to download the scanning software for paperport 12 and reinstall it to see if scanning will be fixed
