I have a Dell printer model V505 and the cover will not close. One of the rear hinges appears to have jumped out of position. Can this be fixed?
Optional Information: Make: Dell Model: V505 Already Tried: Have opened cover fully but am unable to manipulate hinge into position. Not sure if the fitting is damaged.

if you look at the hinge closly do you see any breakage
the hinge appears to have jumped out of a moulded plstic fitting but it is not possible to see if that moulding is damaged
the hing must be having self lock, if you try to put it back in place it should go fine from one end and the other end when the plastic lock should fit in can be seen clearly applying mild force can get the hinge inserted back to is position. Please check and tell me.
The hinge will not go into bracket with mild force. It also looks if top of bracket may be broken
if you can see the bracket is broken then try to unhook the printer flip it up side down and shake the printer see of any piece comes out if yes then you can try to use some super glue to past it back
this is basically a paper support othwise the printer is working fine if i am correct
will have to break off as late for appointment. Printer will not work as cover will not stay down. Will take to local repairer but happy to accept your £12 fee with thanks
if you are comfortable then you can open the printer cover if you have opened any printer before or else i would suggest you to take it to the repair tech he will either fix the plastic hing or bypass the sensor which is basically close due to the plastic hinge lying outside.
ok
