Resolved Question:

I'm trying to connect my new Brother mfc j410w printer to my wireless network. I am sure I've entered my wep key correctly, but the machine tells me that my network key is incorrect. Is there some trick I'm missing?

What model router are you using?
Are you on a computer connected to the network now?
Customer: replied 6 years ago.
The router is an Actiontec Electronics INC. Actiontec_IGD model

The router was provided by Verizon FIOS

I'm connected to the network now.

Ok I am unsure about how to get into the router you may need to call verizon for that. However the print needs the hexadecimal kley it is 10 digits long. Your router should show that in the setup page under the actual passphrase. The printer will not work with a passphrase.

(Even if you are a subscription or trial member you must click "Accept" for me to be paid.)

If you do not click "Accept” I am not paid anything as there is no salary for working here.

If my answer did not work please let me know instead of giving negative feedback.

I'm using the 10-digit key and it isn't working.

Thanks for trying.

Are you sure? The passphrase may be digits long as well.
Customer: replied 6 years ago.
I'm pretty sure. The key i'm using has worked for all other devices and matches the "wep key" on the bottom of the router.

That sounds like it is the passphrase you need the hexadecimal.
