Sorry to hear about your 1690... but the error you're seeing is a pretty common one, so you definitely aren't alone.

You took the right first step, rebooting the machine. Usually this clears the error, and you can resume normal operation. Since that didn't fix it, and as you alluded to, you will need to obtain service. My experience dictates that the code you're seeing could mean a couple different things. I have seen this stem from a drum malfunction (pretty basic) to a mainboard failure (very serious). The only way to know for sure is to have a technician look at it and run appropriate diagnostics.
