Resolved Question:

I have an Phaser 6280 and it is showing an Error Code 024-371 that I cannot clear. I tried several times turning the machine off, waiting several minutes, and turning back on. Still no luck clearing this error code.

Tom K :

Hi I am here to help.

Tom K :

Let me know when youre ready.

JACUSTOMER-xg62ljt2- :

Ready

Tom K :

Ok the error code you are mentioning is for a MCU Communication Error.

Tom K :

The first step to fixing is to try a power cycle, which you already have with no results.

Tom K :

The next step is to reseat the image processor board.

Tom K :

Let me get you the necessary instruction.

JACUSTOMER-xg62ljt2- :

OK

Tom K :

  • Remove the Rear Cover

  • Loosen the Knurling Screw (PL9.1.44) and open the Window Shield

  • (PL9.1.21).

  • Lift the Window Shield up to release the 4 tabs of the Window Shield from

  • the holes on the I/P Board Shield (PL9.1.25).

  • Remove the Optional Hard Drive (if installed)

  • Disconnect the 4 wiring harness connectors on the I/P Board

  • Remove 1 screw securing the I/P Board to the I/P Board Shield Assembly

  • Remove the I/P Board from the printer

Tom K :

That will get you to the image processor board.

Tom K :

At which case you just need to make sure it is firmly inserted into its connection.

Tom K :

Next is to reseat the MCU board:

  • Remove the Rear Cover

  • Remove the I/P Board Shield Assembly

  • Remove the MCU Board Shield

  • Disconnect the 20 wiring harness connectors on the MCU Board.

  • Remove 6 screws (6 mm) securing the MCU Board to the printer.

  • Remove the MCU Board from the printer

Tom K :

If reseating both of those boards does not fix the issue, then the MCU and Processor board will need to be replaced.

This looks pretty complex so I will have to try this later tonight. In the meantime, I'll pay you for your time and effort and if your fix does not work, can I get you back tomorrow. How do I do that.

Tom K :

Yes, you can get back to me by using this link: http://www.justanswer.com/questions/3yvdj-i-have-an-phaser-6280-and-it-is-showing-an-error-code-024-371 or adding this page to your favorites.
