Customer Question

I have a brother HL-2040 printer. The drum light is flashing, so I replaced it with a new drum, but the light keeps blinking. Can you help?

Already Tried:
I replaced the drum, held down the GO button until all the lights came on.

Thank you for asking us. I will be happy to fix your problem ASAP

Lets try to reset the printer. Please follow the steps:
1)Click on Start button
2)Then go to control panel
3)Go to Add/remove program and in the list find your printer
4)Uninstall your printer from that list and then restart the computer.
5)Unplug the printer for 15-20 minutes and the connect it back to the Pc.
6)Install the updated driver for your printer from the link as mentioned the installation process in your printer manual.
7)Done

That still didn't work. I think the printer might be on it's last legs.

Greetings, please make sure the front panel door is open when pressing the Go button for 4 seconds. This should reset the drum counter. If the light continues to blink after a proper reset, there could be an issue with the replacement drum and you should contact the seller, especially if it is remanufactured.
