Hi,

This is a print head issue and a common problem with this model. To attempt to resolve it, do the following:

(1) Open the printer
(2) Remove the ink cartridges from the print head.
(3) Use cotton swabs dipped in hot water to thoroughly clean the print head.
(4) Repeat this until there is no ink residue coming off on the cotton swab.
(5) Once finished, allow to dry and replace the cartridges
(6) Try to print something now

If that does not work then you will need to contact HP to get a replacement print head. That will solve the problem.

the hp is hardly used and so there is no ink accumulation, can you possibly think of something else.

Hi,

There is nothing else. This is a common problem with the HP's and it's always a print head problem.

Try the reset and see if it helps:
Reset the system by holding down the OK, Cancel, Black, and Color buttons down at the same time and turn the 3310 off. Keep holding the buttons down until the printer shuts off and the turn it back on. You will have to turn the printer off twice and then it will recalibrate.
