Hi,

follow this EXACTLY. it is a purge count that got too high.

Problem with my printer Brother MFC-240C "Print unable 4F"

Access the internal maintenance mode by pressing the Menu/Set button, then press * 2 8 6 4 within 2 seconds.

This should put you in the maintenance mode menu.

Enter 80, then scroll down with the arrow down (round) key. You'll find an entry listed as purge count. If number is XXXXX 6000, enter 2 7 8 3.

This will reset the purge count value. Then the printer will restart,
try this step by step.without missing any thing. thanks

Carl

well, if you got the purge count to zeros, then the reset worked.

That is the only procedure for this error.

Since you have run it by the printshop and the online experts, i would say trash it.

It is a pretty old model anyway. these generally are not repairable beyond a new printhead and ink cartridges...

wish I had better news.
