Its possible there could be an issue with the keyless entry receiver but it's much more likely that you have a bad fob. If the battery has been replaced then the next step will be to test the fob to see if it is transmitting when buttons are pressed. Any dealer and most shops will have a tester, but most big chain parts stores such as Autozone will test fobs for free. If it is not transmitting then it will need to be replaced.
