Hi, I .am wondering if you regularly service this at the local dealer? There were many updates to the PCM system and they have all the discs to update

I am looking at a very long bulletin right now to try and see if your symptoms are in the bulletin

Expert:  porscheguru replied 1 year ago.

Your symptoms: "PCM switches off and on sporadically. see section 1.10"

There is an update for this but a disc is required for the u[pdate. The dealer has all of these update discs.

The repair as per section 1.10 of the bulletin states the following:

C: Software error.
A: Update PCM using "PCM3.1 Update CD" (WKD95280015 or a later version).

If they charge you it should be no more than 1 hr labor. Maybe 1/2 hr.

The repair is as follows:

C: Software error.
A: Update PCM using "PCM3.1 Update CD" (WKD95280015 or a later version).
-
Procedure:
- Connect battery charger to the vehicle.
- Disconnect any removable data media (stick, hard drive, etc.) connected to the media

- Once you confirm the update message, a progress bar appears and PCM is reset twice
during the update.
- The update takes approx. 23 minutes (with removable drive) and approx. 37 minutes
(with single drive).
- When the update is complete, the message “System updated successfully to V1.31”
appears on the display.
