How do you change the fuel return line from the fuel tank on

How do you change the fuel return line from the fuel tank on a 1984 911 Carrera Targa. I cannot locate the other end of the line from the tank.

It runs through the tunnel I believe. The steel portion while you can replace the rubber portion up to the steel line by the steering rack. Is it leaking or are you doing this as preventative maintenance?

Yes, they both go through the tunnel. The rear area comes out of the tunnel on the driver's side. It is not an easy job. Having the engine and trans assembly out would make it easier.
