Have 1987 Porsche 928 S4 with OE 245/45ZR16 rear sized tires on OE 16x8 rear wheels. Trouble finding OE size - told no longer making 245/45-16 in 45 aspect ratio. Dealers suggest 245/50-16. Is 50 aspect ratio Ok? Any cautions? What do you suggest? Optional tires suggested to change to 17" with
Front Optional 17"
225/45-17
Rear Optional 17"
255/40-17
Would need to replace 16" rims and buy/put on 17" rims. Correct? What are the ramifications? Your thoughts?

As question not answered I'll repeat and expand with more specificity:

Dealers suggest replacing with 245/50-16 or same 225/50-16 size tire as currently on the front. Front rims with 225/50-16 tires are 16x7. Rear rims are16x8. Is 50 aspect ratio for rear 245/50-16 instead of 245/45-16 Ok? Any cautions? What do you suggest?
Others suggest replacing 245/45-16 rear tires with same 225/50-16 size used on front 7' rims on 8' rear rims? Your thoughts?
