Thinking of buying a 2000 Porsche 911 with 142,000 miles on it but: 1) it's got a competition exhaust system on it; and 2) the ABS module does not work. What would it cost me to replace the exhaust system and the ABS module ?
Hi,Ok, ABS control module, you are looking at $2200 parts and labor. On the exhaust, if just needing to go back to factory from end of converters, then $1780 parts and labor. If the catalytic converters are also needed, add $3500 to that. The cats are $1600 each plus labor. Please note, your Deposit doesn't constitute a payment. Are those repairs easily done ?
Hi,Abs unit is only 0.6 hours but does require a porsche scan tool to program the new unit once installed.the exhaust is 2hrs for cat-back and another 2hrs for converters. As to ease or difficulty of this, it depends on how the competition system was installed. If welded in, then a torch is required to cut it off and welder needed to weld on new system. Cats are a bit time consuming due to accessing the mounting bolts at exhaust manifolds. Please note, your Deposit doesn't constitute a payment. But they can get the 10 year old parts ?
Hi,yes, they are still available, but likely not on hand at a local porsche dealer. I would expect a 3-5 day turnaround on ordering the partsPlease note, your Deposit doesn't constitute a payment. Okay, thanks. Last detail. With 142,000 miles on the vehicle, it's an obviously a bad buy at $15,900. Overall, though, should I just pass on this one or is it a reasonable way to get the 911 I've always wanted ?
Hi,retail value with that many miles is from $12,700 in fair condition up to $15,300 in excellent condition. At 15,900 with another $6000 to put into it immediately, it is wayyy overpriced. I would offer about $10,000 on it and walk away if they wont drop it down to thatPlease note, your Deposit doesn't constitute a payment. I would walk away from it if the seller wont drop it to $10,000 Please note, your Deposit doesn't constitute a payment. Please click the ACCEPT BUTTON to complete transaction or ask for more help.
