Our hot tub was working fine, but recently we can't get it

Customer Question

Our hot tub was working fine, but recently we can't get it to heat past 95
JA: Who manufactured the hot tub?
Customer: It's a marquis spas sports series
JA: Do you plan on doing the work yourself?
Customer: If we can
JA: Anything else we should know to help you best?
Customer: The heat on light is on consistently and it seems to never stop trying to heat. We have the temp set to 102 but it never reads above 95

Wonderful. Thank you!

Sounds to me like a faulty temperature sensor, shutting off the heater before it should. Its detecting a higher temperature than there really is

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
We thought about that, but the thing is.... it doesn't shut off. It keeps trying to heat it and never stops
Expert:  WCohn replied 1 month ago.

So you have proven power is still at the heater?

Expert:  WCohn replied 1 month ago.

What's the voltage?

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
240 is what we're pulling from the breaker. And we've tried turning the breaker on and back off again but that didn't work
Expert:  WCohn replied 1 month ago.

Whats the voltage at the Heater???

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
Not sure
Customer: replied 1 month ago.
How would I go about checking that?
Expert:  WCohn replied 1 month ago.

I need to know. If its 240 there, then I need to know the resistance. If its 120 then you have other issues

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
Alright. If you can tell me what I need to do in order to find that out I can. Its 10:00 here so it would have to be tomorrow. Is that okay?
Expert:  WCohn replied 1 month ago.

That's fine. When the heater is on Check the voltage at the 2 nuts on the heater

Expert:  WCohn replied 1 month ago.

Then measure the resistance in OHMS
