A CE error is a communication error between the control module and the display. You can try a reset by powering the unit off wait a mute then power it back up. If the error persists you could have a bad connection or a bad module.

I have powered down from the P4 panel - but is there a manual power down from the heater itself? It did not reset

does torrential rain have anything to do with this error?
Expert:  Rick replied 5 months ago.

You need to cut all power to the unit usually by turning off the breaker. A bad connection could be affected by the rain so could a bad module.
