I have a Jacuzzi Sand Filter for an above ground pool.

Customer Question

I have a Jacuzzi Sand Filter for an above ground pool. Recently when you have it set on Filter, Some water comes out the backwash hose lowering the water pressure going into the pool.
Is there a gasket or o'ring that needs to be replaced. If not how do I trouble shoot this problem?

Most sand filters have a valve on it called a multi-port valve, it will have settings like Rince, Recirculate, Filter and Backwash. Inside that valve is a gasket called a spider gasket, if this gasket gets pinched or warps it can allow water to get out of the backwash line while in filter mode. You need to open the valve and inspect or replace the spider gasket.
