What causes a suction to go bad on a Pool just installed a Pentair Filter grids are all new . The suction is very low, help

I saw your pictures you sent me with the question about the filter. Note while that pump is old, that doesn't necessarily mean it should have low suction. What is the pressure reading on the filter. Also, where the water returns to the pool, is there air shooting out also?

Filter pressure is low. No air

And are we positive the new filter was hooked up correctly? With the vertical grid filters, if you mix up the return and pump ports when plumbing it in, you'll run into that issue, very low water flow with no air. Just something to check out. After that it gets a little tricky tracking it down.
