Customer Question

having a terrible time with a hayward northstar pool pump that has a sleeve that attaches the motor with mounting plate to pump assembly piece. i have the top lined up and the diffuser in the correct spot. i do not see any obstructions. the gasket on near the mounting plate is in place and very round. if i take off the gasket then it all slides in easily. i did not change motors or disassemble the mounting plate. i only took of the impeller to get a small pea sized item out of it. my problem originated with very hot water in the basket of the pump when i was investigating very very low or no filtering and no suction in the skimmer either. thanks so much for reading my problem. so the biggest problem currently is the fact that the motor mouting plate does not seem to go into the pump assembly. it is almost a 1/2 inch out of the assembly still and the gasket is in the assembly and seems to fit fine. i tried to push on it and even use hammer slightly with no evidence of any further moveme

Hello,
is the a depression in the gasket where the pinch point is? Occasionally a generic gasket does not have all the cutouts removed
