I am having trouble removing my electrolytic cell so i can check it and clean it. my husband is out of town and I am not sure which part/parts to loosen to remove it. I know how to clean it once it's out, if needed, just don't want to loosen the wrong part and break anything.
loosening by hand , but nothing is budging
What brand do you have? That way I am not guessing and can give you exact information. Also, is it giving you a code that says you need to clean cell?
Jandy Aqua pure. no code, but we just had the cell replaced at the beginning of the season.
If you are not getting a error code and it is producing chlorine I wouldn't take it off yet. However, if you do want to it is fairly simple but takes some elbow grease. The two lock nuts that hold the cell in place must be untightened to be able to remove the cell. You also unplug the cord to it it it looks like this:
Be sure to turn the pool system off first.
Do you need instructions on cleaning? I will say that sometimes the cell unions can be somewhat hard to break loose to get it off. You may need to use a large wrench which would give leverage to accomplish this.
