garrygoeson :

Hi my name is Garry

garrygoeson :

Does the fan come on and run after you power on heater?

Is the SERVICE SYSTEM light on, or the SERVICE HEATER light on?

Customer : The fan does not come ON after I power the heater. Service system or Service heater light is OFF.
garrygoeson :

The heater canNOT fire unless the fan is running.

Do you have a multimeter to run some tests?

Customer : Yes I do..what test do u want me to do..FYI..this happened before and I just reset power and start heating again..
Customer : When can I get a response?
garrygoeson :

Sorry for the delay in responding back, I have been away for a bit.

If blower won't come on when trying to fire heater, disconnect blower and check for voltage between pins 1 and 3 at the Blower connector. If line voltage is present, replace blower.

garrygoeson :

If no line voltage is at pins 1 and 3 at the blower connector, The Ignition Control Module will need to be checked. Let me know what you find. Thank you.

Customer : Hello, I disconnected blower and check voltage on pin 1 and 3. Did not get line voltage, only showed 20 V on my meter...checked incoming voltage between black and red, got 242V..
Customer : Hello, I fired my heater right after I send u the result and blower start running. I did not do anything except vacuuming my heater and resetting some of the wire connection...can u give me some inputs on might have happen? Don't know how long will this last before it quit on me again. Does it have anything to do with the ignition control module?
garrygoeson :

If blower runs, but only runs intermittantly, you possibly have a short in the wiring going to the blower. Since I'm not there to test any of this, I have no way of knowing for certain.

When you are firing the heater you should have 24 volts going to the ignition control. If the 24V is there, then F1 and F2 will close to start the blower. If this operares this way, then you need to confirm the wiring to the blower is not opening sparadically causing it to sometimes run and sometimes not run.

Customer : Ok, short? I'm thinking more of a loose connection causing voltage drop. Is this possible too?
garrygoeson :
garrygoeson :

Yes. check all contacts and wire terminations to be certain they are transferring full voltage!
