Welcome, how can I help you today? First thing to do is remove cover. Go to pump and filter system and locate the pump lid, open the lid and you should find all the plugs for the system in the basket. Replace pump plugs 2 one in front and one on the side, use teflon tape for the threads of plug. Next reinstall drain plug on filter tank, it should be 1 1/2 in white or black plug with o-ring, plug goes on the bottom and back or the filter tank. Next check for sight glass that would go in the multiport valve you should see where it goes. Now add water to the pump to fill the basket area and re attach the pump lid. Go to pool and remove all plugs in the returns on the walls. Remove plugs from skimmers, there may be a big blue or black plastic tube screwed into the skimmer and just remove that. Once all plugs removed and skimmers are clear, make sure water level is in the middle os skimmers. Go back to pump and open the valves in front of the pump, turn on power to pump and start the priming, wait until pump pulls a full basket of water and the pressure gage on the top of the filter starts going up, then check that all returns are blowing water back into pool. The multiport should be in Filter setting and put the eyeballs back into the return fittings on the pool wall. If you have a DE filter you will need to add DE powder to skimmer, 5-7 lbs should be good read filter for proper amount. Now start adding the chlorine shock and adjust the PH and Alkalinity.
Thank you so much for your prompt reply. It is our first time opening the pool which has cost us more than $300 for the last two Spring openings. I am sure I'll have a few questions during the process and I need to check to make sure I have enough of the teflon tape and I am reading the filter manual and canot tell if it is a "DE" filter as you have mentioned. Sorry for the elementary questions.
Thats fine just let me know as you go along.
