I have a pearl whirlpool. It was installed with the handles going the same direction. I am trying to figure out how to make one of the handles face the opposite direction. I have taken the handle off, but the part that holds the handle is facing the wrong way and I do not know how to turn it the correct way- the metal bracket that turns the water on does not twist off and is keeping the fitting in place.
Optional Information: Make: Pearl Already Tried: removing the handle and trying to remove the on off nut.

Sorry, I must have been confusing. My challenge isn't with a fridge but a whirlpool tub. The handles on the tub both go the same way. It is a pearl whirpool.
Welcome, how can I help you today? These fittings have a locknut on the back side of the fitting, sometimes these are located under the tub or in the wall and you will need a plumber to make repair.
Relist: Answer quality.I would like to know how to fix the problem myself, I don't want to pay $28 to be told to hire a plumber. That is not a solution, that is what I am trying to avoid.
First we need to know what faucet was installed. If its a delta faucet it can easily be changed by removing the stem you want changed and turning it 180 degs. If its another brand stem, you will have to remove the stem and get the appropriate brand stem. Can you possibly post a picture? Alot of times on round handles they will turn the same way and on levers they oppose each other when used. In this case, rather than tell you to grab it with a pair of pliers and twist, id like to see it and advise you from that point.
