I replaced the drivers door module and it still did not

Customer Question

David, I replaced the drivers door module and it still did not work. I tested the drivers window switches and door lock switch and they were grounded and were getting 12v. I ran a continunity test on the switches and it was open . Is it possible that the whole switch/mirror module could go bad? It just doesn't seem logical that the window switches, the door lock and the mirror adjustment could all go bad at the same time. Is it possible?

its very possible. it just happened on my fiancees buick ranier

The car sat idle for nine months and the battery went dead and I tried to jump start it without any luck. It did make weird electrical noises when it was jumped. I first used a small battery booster and that did nothing. With 12v coming to the switch/mirror module and being grounded, I cannot think what else it could be.

so the vehicle still will not start?

Customer: replied 10 days ago.
no, it started after I put a new battery in it. The old battery would not hold a charge so I got a new one and it started right away
