I have a 2006 Pontiac g6 with a bad heater core. Yes it fogs

Hi I have a 2006 Pontiac g6 with a bad heater core.
JA: Have you checked the coolant level? Has there been any leaking from the hoses?
Customer: Yes it fogs up and I have the dash almost all the way out and their is coolant in the vent system
JA: Are you fixing your G6 yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: yes I am I have almost the wole dash out
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: Yes I wanted to know if I need to remove the ac line that goes into the dash from the engine

The ac lines can be left intact. You will be removing the havac assembly. You'll then have to drill out the cover to remove the core. I can post some instructions with pictures for you. It'll be a few minutes while i get them together.

please that would be helpful. From what u said I'm assuming I need to remove the havac from behind the dash. I have the metal frame of the dash loose but not fully out. I thought I can just open the cover from their. I'm guesing not
