Just recently my Pontiac Grand Prix SE 3.8L started bogging

Customer Question

Hello my names David and just recently my Pontiac Grand Prix SE 3.8L started bogging out at around about 40 mph nd the low track light will also come on. But if I'm on the freeway nd happen to be able to get it up to or past 50 mph I can hit the gas nd it'll pick up nd start actin normal could you tell me why this would happen or wat the problem could be??
JA: Just to clarify, what are the exact lights you're talking about?
Customer: The traction control light on the dash right above the radio
JA: What year is your Grand Prix?
Customer: It's a 99
JA: Are you fixing your Grand Prix yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Well I have just bought brand new both up-stream nd down-stream o2 sencers nd new spark plugs md spark plug wires but when I plug in the obd2 reader the only code that comes up is o2 sencor bank one sencor one no activity detected
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: No that's about it

No problem Roy thank you I am just trying to find my problem nd fix it so I can get back on the road nd be able to get to nd from work

ok, first, have you or have you had the fuel pressure checked??? low pressure will cause the sensors to stay full lean.

No I have not but wouldn't that pop up on an obd2 reader if one was to be hooked up to it??
Expert:  Roy Belding replied 6 months ago.

no, codes are for fuel controls for the engine. fuel pump is mechanical and there is no codes for that.

Ok so wat if I just change the fuel pump??
Expert:  Roy Belding replied 6 months ago.

without testing, it is a guess but fits with the symptoms you have. I like to confirm a part failure before replacing.

in your case, it does make sense.

But would that also make my low traction control light come on nd also feel like it wants to make my front passenger tire want to lock up
Expert:  Roy Belding replied 6 months ago.

do you have a local parts store around you that can read the codes??? they will do it for free for you. once you have the code for the trac system, we can continue to find the area of failure for that system
