Well I'll be darned, it never attached. so sorry.

Before trying to drive it again, you need to check engine compression and do a cylinder leak down test to be sure the motor is okay. get the new belt put on and the steering should work again too. Our main concern is that we didn't do any engine damage when it overheated.
